NEW DAWN information file Issue 2 V1.0
_________________________
This disc based magazine is Public Domain, and may be distributed freely,
as long as no data is altered in any way (except for the reader's file). All
programs are copyright COBRA/Tom Cooper and the music is copyright EXEL.
I have not tested this magazine on a one meg machine so I give no
guarantee as to whether it will work on less than 2 megs (it probably
won't!).
Due to an error by Tom (I think), the sound effects in W.A.L.O.B. (can
you work it out? answers on a postcard to Tom)... well don't sound really.
This will be amended in a future version of this issue which should be
available from the Datafile PD. (but you shouldn't die until then, as it
doesn't detract from the tremendous thrills and spills you can get out of
WALOB - it really is a fantastically exciting game, and when you compare it
to something like SWIV, theres just no competition at
all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But then again, it is better than Lotsofgeddon, so
I can't get too sarchastic with Tom's efforts (too late I think actually)).
If you are one of these lobotomised (or skint) people who only have one
meazly megabyte of memory inside their machines, then here's a subtle hint
for you:
GET AN UPGRADE!...... NOW!
There is absolutely no point at all in having a multi tasking OS that
cannot have 2 programs loaded in at once due to memory shortage.
Finally I have a message for all those brainless programmers out there
who put *RMCLEAR commands (well, their SWI equivilent anyway) in the code inside there programs (I'm not trying
to drop names but a company involved with dimensions and four of them at
that, tends to do this an awful lot):
DON'T DO IT!
Anyone who owns a VIDC enhancer and multisync monitor (eg. like me)
cannot use games with this command in them!
Any of the members of QUANTUM can accept no responsibilty for damage
caused by carrying out any of the instructions provided on this disk, or by
using any of this software. I can however assure you that this mag won't
knacker your computer, and that putting the New Dawn disk in your drive
backwards will almost certainly render your disk drive inoperative.
